catalog dictionary: /AcroForm optional or required

Hi,

i have a question:

PDF 1.4 (due to PDF/A) specification defines the 'AcroForm' key in the catalog dictionary as optional.

But this can mean two things:

A)

- If the pdf has form NO fields -> optional

- If the pdf has form fields -> required

B)

- If the pdf has form NO fields -> optional

- If the pdf has form fields -> optional

So can the key be omitted even if a document has form fields?
