I'm trying to come up with a time estimate on supporting Unicode fonts in PDF. The code I have generates PDFs fine for non-Unicode fonts and text already, and I've seen quotes elsewhere on this forum for 3-6 man months. I'm not sure I understand the problem completely, but the major steps I see are making sure the Unicode text is encoded properly, embedding the font correctly (I already do this for non-Unicode fonts), and generating the CMap entries for the embedded portion of the font. Are there some pitfalls or added complexity I'm not seeing at the moment and should be aware of? Or does the estimate I've seen elsewhere assume starting from nothing?
